Through our sister company Liquid Studios, I have been providing food photography for Cows & Co for a little time now. These artisan, handcrafted cheeses have lovely colour and texture (as well as taste!) and photograph beautifully. This particular shoot was a little different, as I was working alongside a recipe developer to capture imagery of recipes to include in the Cows & Co 2016 calendar.
Linda, who is passionate about food both professionally and personally invited me along to her home where she working on preparing recipes and I photographed the finished dishes. I was able to dip into her vast array of kitchen accessories, and use these alongside my own box of goodies. Thankfully Linda didn’t even bat an eye when I carted in a rusty sheet of steel, alongside a 1950’s trestle table! (used to provide interesting and complimentary background textures).
We had a great couple of days refining and photographing recipes, all fuelled by a constant supply of fresh coffee. The dining room made a great studio – with large windows flooding a lovely soft directional light over the food (with the added bonus of a view over the Cumbrian Fells).
Here is a small selection of image from the day 🙂
