Working alongside our sister company Liquid Studios, I had the absolute pleasure of food photography for Cows & Co. These fantastic cheeses are produced using milk from the award winning Ayrshire herd at Crofthead Farm in Dumfriesshire, and are very much an artisan product.  With this in mind, I set about collecting accessories which would help set the scene – rustic trestle tables, reclaimed Hessian &  a whole collection of mismatched cutlery, along with a selection of fruits to complete the look.

I do favour working with natural light where I can – on this particular day the weather was pretty overcast.  Maybe not the most inspiring of days, but in terms of photography I was able to use the soft light to illuminate the cheeses beautifully – lovely soft, rich colours, along with the delicate crumbly textures.

This session generated imagery that will be used for a variety of marketing purposes – and so with this in mind I also included imagery that contained ’empty space’ – perfect for overlaying text and graphics.

I’ve been really pleased with feedback from this shoot – all following the vein of ‘ooh, that looks delicious, I could just tuck in’!  And quite rightly so, as these cheeses are all a little taste of heaven!
