Last week I had a portrait session booked with Lindsay Wild of Brougham Hall Holistic Centre.  The main aim of the session was to capture informal business portraits of Lindsay – which looked relaxed and natural.

I particularly enjoy working on location, and the grounds of Brougham Hall proved a perfect backdrop.  Lindsay and I started off with a coffee whilst having a wander round the grounds to work out a couple of locations for the portraits.  The first image here has been taken under the cover of a large archway – naturally lit with a flood of soft, flattering light.  The image on the right was taken on the steps of a secluded little path that leads to the chapel.  Most people feel a little unsure about having their photo taken – so I always do my best to put my clients at ease. This has a double benefit – the experience is enjoyable and the resulting imagery is natural and authentic.

We had a bit of banter about editing – Lindsay was convinced that I do a fair amount of post production.  In reality I like to keep editing to a minimum – I would always choose to capture a great image first using flattering light – then the editing required is minimal – so the resulting image is genuinely you!
